Selected AJB DOC Program Coming Soon to Konjic

The Al Jazeera Balkans Documentary Film Festival (AJB DOC), in cooperation with the Cultural Centre „ National University Konjic“, will once again return as a guest to that town. From September 9th to 12th, the audience in Herzegovina will have the opportunity to watch four documentary films produced by Al Jazeera Balkans, from the current „AJB Screening“ festival program, at the cinema hall of the National University.

In a media statement, the organizers of the AJB DOC Film Festival expressed their satisfaction with the longstanding cooperation with the Center for Culture Konjic. In their effort to bring the festival closer to the audience and enhance the visibility of documentary films, they plan to establish partnerships with more cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

"The significant interest and positive response from the Konjic audience in previous editions of the AJB DOC @ Konjic program have encouraged us to continue this initiative, bringing the festival atmosphere to this city on the Neretva River. Our goal is also to create meeting places for documentary enthusiasts and promotion of high-quality domestic film production in other cities as well," said AJB DOC selector Sead Kreševljaković.

Benjamin Mušinović from the Center for Culture National University Konjic also expressed satisfaction with this successful cooperation.

"I would like to thank Al Jazeera Balkans and AJB DOC for the opportunity for Konjic to become a center for the best, honest and deeply engaged stories that primarily aim to speak loudly about our silence, express the importance of fighting for justice and the rights of every human being and encompass everything that belongs to them by virtue of their existence, honest and diligent work," said Mušinović.

Four Documentary Films

The film „The Dayton Legacy: Bosnia - A Fragile Peace“ will be featured on the following day, September 10th. The film addresses the complex legacy of the Dayton Peace Agreement and provides a detailed and alarming assessment of the current geopolitical situation.

On Monday, September 11th, the audience will have the opportunity to see the film "The Musemić Brothers," inspired by Vahid and Husref, strikers and legends of FK "Sarajevo“, who won the Yugoslav championship with this club.

The documentary "The Investigator", directed by Viktor Portel, will be screened on Tuesday, September 12th.
