A documentary airing today seeks the answer to the question " Can peace between Israel and Palestine be reached with the right leaders?"

The documentary film "Tomorrow’s Freedom" by Sophia Scott and Georgia Scott, from the Competition Selection of the last edition of the AJB DOC Film Festival, will be aired on Al Jazeera Balkans today at 17:05 and 23:05.

Politician and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Marwan Barghouti could be elected the next Palestinian president, meaning Israel is holding a country’s leader behind bars. 

Through the eyes of his dedicated wife Fadwa and their family, alongside notable activists and leaders, Marwan – Tomorrow’s Freedom captures the spirit of an indefatigable campaigner for justice.

In 2017, filmmaking sisters Georgia and Sophia Scott gained intimate access to the story of imprisoned Palestinian political leader Marwan Barghouthi. 

Working closely with Marwan’s family in the occupied West Bank in Palestine, the Scott sisters spent over 3 years following the family as they struggled through Marwan’s prisoner hunger strike. 

Highly crafted, daring and humanist in its approach, Tomorrow’s Freedom film builds a powerful picture of a man that might one day lead the Palestinian people, and poses the question: Can peace between Israel and Palestine be reached with the right leaders?
