TRAINING FOR YOUNG FILMMAKERS

"SMARTPHONE DOCUMENTARY FILM PRODUCTION"

Smartphone documentary film production and the way it is delivered and broadcast to the public has led to radical changes in film industry. The changes have affected the approach to the subject matter, film duration, author's presence, narrative, publication and interaction with the audience/public. This training is designed to give journalists and producers an overview on how to deal with the content using a smartphone in documentary filmmaking. Furthermore, it will provide them with an insight into filming techniques and an opportunity to put their newly gained skills into use. It will help them choose appropriate mechanisms of interaction with the public.

At the end of the training, participants should be able to: 

• Understand the changes in the documentary film industry, as a result of the application of new filming tools; 
• Master the approaches and learn the first steps in smartphone documentary film production; 
• Apply acquired skills – from idea, to production and postproduction.
